Wear was born December 13, 1929 in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska to Creed and Gladys (Gentry) Clark, the oldest girl of eight children and passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln at the age of 81 years 5 months and 29 days. Wear was born December 13, 1929 in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska to Creed and Gladys (Gentry) Clark, the oldest girl of eight children and passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln at the age of 81 years 5 months and 29 days. As a young girl she attended Beaver Crossing Public School and graduated with the Class of 1946. On May 3, 1947, Joan was united in marriage to Howard T. Wear in Kansas and to this union daughters, Katherine and Diane were born. Although Joan was a busy mother and served as a brownie scout leader, she also worked on the manufacturing line at the Elgin Watch factory and as a mail clerk at Cushman Motors, both in Lincoln. Joan also babysat for numerous families over the years. In her retirement, Joan has enjoyed reading and playing solitaire, listening to "golden oldies" music and watching comedy and game shows on television. She enjoyed cooking for her family and especially the many hours she spent fishing with Howard at Harlan County Reservoir. Joan was a former member of the Beaver Crossing Christian Church and was baptized there. Joan is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Katherine and Lee Fisher, Beaver Crossing, Diane Kenney, Blair; four grandchildren and spouses, Kevin and Kimberly Fisher, Seward, Christine and Thomas Royal, Lincoln, Russell and Linda Bolte, Omaha, Deana and Trevor Schweitzer, Sacramento, CA; six great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Cave, Lincoln, brother and sister-in-law, Max and Opal Clark, York; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Bill Kinsel, Richmond, WA; special friends, Dave Bolte and Barb Tweedy, both of Republican City and Leroy Kenney, Valparaiso and a host of relatives and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard in 1990, brothers, Garold, Warren, Willard and David Clark, and sister, Carolyn Bowens. Interment was in the Beaver Crossing Cemetery, Beaver Crossing, NE.
