Father Leo Riesberg officiated. Mrs. Riedell passed away Friday, November 30, 2001, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Music was by organist Sue Mein, the St. Joseph's Choir and by a duet comprised of Mrs. Riedell's daughter, Kelli, and Brittany Drost. Mrs. Riedell passed away Friday, November 30, 2001, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Pallbearers were Dan Halterman, Jack DeBourgh, Richard Schultz, Gail Goodner, Wayne Poen, Denes Frank, Randy Schulte and Kary Obman. Interment was made in Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. JoAnn A. Riedell was born May 20, 1953, in Carroll, the daughter of Ed and Mildred Sturm. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School and was graduated from Lake View-Auburn High School in 1971. She married Richard Riedell on June 9, 1973, in Wall Lake. She worked as a service representative, a bank teller and as a legal and office secretary. She lived on a farm north of Lake View with her husband, Richard. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was active in church activities, serving as CYO and CCD coordinator. She was also a Boy Scout den leader and a baseball and basketball coach for youth. Survivors include her husband, Richard; 4 children: Amy ( & husband Kirby) Underberg of Riverside, Adam (& wife Wendy) Riedell of Nevada, and Kelli and Clayton Riedell, both at home; her parents, Ed and Mildred Sturm of Carroll; 2 grandchildren, Kolton Underberg and Ashton Riedell; 4 sisters: Janet (& husband Richard) Steinkamp of Breda, Sherrie (& husband Steve) Wilson of Lake View, Susie Tjaden (& fiance Mike Frank) of Lake View and Connie (& husband Rod) Neumayer of Aurora, Colo,; 2 brothers: Donald (& wife Kathy) Sturm of Auburn and Doug (& wife Mary) Sturm of Auburn; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Jacob, in 1992; and by her parents-in-law, Joseph and Flotilla Riedell.
