Read More	PARENTS: John Rufus Hudspeth and Jennie Charolette Neumann MARRIAGE: Mary Jo Boyd MARRIAGE DATE: January 10, 1948 / Spokane County, WA Joe Rufus Hudspeth, age 90, Passed away on Oct. 7, 2015, in Spokane Valley. Joe was born on Sept. 11, 1925 in Hunters to parents John Rufus Hudspeth and Jennie Charolette Neumann. At age four, Joe's family moved to Charlo, MT where he attended grade school. The family later returned to Fruitland and Joe finished his schooling in the Hunters School District. Joe is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Dan (Deena); Chris (Ron); John (Denise); Mark (Debra); Sue; Connie; Missy (Bruce); and his sister, Margaret. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Dorothy and Elizabeth. He married Mary Jo Boyd in Spokane on Jan. 10, 1948 and the couple had seven children together. Joe was a member of the Hunters Presbyterian Church, Washington Cattleman's Association, National Farmers Organization, Enterprise Grange, and the Hunters Volunteer Fire Department. He was a 4-H supporter and volunteer. Joe enjoyed reading; he was a history buff and was the family farm museum curator. He enjoyed riding the ranch and checking the cattle. He loved to take his family and friends on tours of his ranch and the old homesteads. Joe liked to go back and visit his family home in Charlo, near Mission Mountain Range. He also enjoyed wood –carving and making lots of toys. Joe also loved to play Santa Claus for his kids. Joe had a sweet tooth--he made Fudge every year for Christmas. He enjoyed going to elk camp every year with his Sons, Grandsons and friends. A funeral service was held for Joe on Oct. 14 at Columbia Heights Assembly of God Church. Pastor Ben Tolson, Pastor Ellen Sokolis, and Pastor Don Bowe officiated. Memorials can be sent to the Hunters Presbyterian Church, 5900B Larson Lane Fruitland, WA 99129, or to the Greenwood Cemetery, 4593 Lessig RD. Hunters, WA 99137. .
