He married Eva Barbara Heubeck August 12, 1838 in Eyb near Ansbach. She was born October 5, 1814 at Untereichenbach Eva Barbara Heubeck already had a child Katrina who was adopted by Adam. Katrina married Johann Michael Leonhard Schlump on 28 Nov 1858 and had 14 children, only three of whom lived - most died soon after birth or were stillborn. This family did not come to the United States. Adam and three of his five children immigrated to the USA. Children born to Adam and Eva Barbara were: Johann Ernst Schwab (called Ernst) who was born April 17, 1839 in Untereichenbach, Bavaria, Germany. He married Eva Maria Barbara Heinlein November 28, 1865 in Lichtenau. She was born October 28,1841 at Boxbrunn, Germany, the daughter of Johann Frederich Heinlein and Sarah Reis. He and his family followed his father to Colorado in 1895. Eva Margarete Schwab was born July 26, 1840 in Untereichenbach and married Johann Georg Leidel September 28, 1862 in Lichtenau. She died in childbirth on May 5, 1867 at Boxbrunn, Germany and her descendants still live in Germany. Johann Leonhard Schwab was born December 12, 1842 at Untereichenbach. He was unmarried when he left Germany and emigrated to the US. Johann Leonhard Schwab later began using John L. as his legal name in America. He was the first to arrive in the US. In 1865 he and John Meyer took up adjoining homesteads on Antelope Creek. Anna Maria Katherina Schwab was born February 1, 1850 at Untereichenbach. When Katerina was 17, her daughter, Eva Bertha Schwab, was born April 1, 1867 at Untereichenbach. One son Johann Simon Schwab died in 1868 at three months of age and is buried in Germany. Eva Barbara Huebeck died a few months later and is also buried in Germany. Adam Schwab came to America nearly four years after his son John L, and after his wife's death in Germany. Adam and his daughter, Anna Maria Katherina Schwab and her daughter Eva Bertha (or Barbara) arrived June 10, 1869 at the Port of New York on the ship Bremen, from Bremen, Germany. Adam, Anna Maria Katherina and Bertha, traveled to Central City in Gilpin County in the Territory of Colorado. When she arrived in Colorado, Anna Maria Katherina Schwab (most often called Maria) married John Meyer. Adam Schwab worked as a butcher in Central City with his son-in-law John Meyer. Adam Schwab moved into the Wet Mountain Valley at the same time as his son and son-in-law made their move from Central City on October 6, 1870. On June 9, 1875 Adam filed a declaration of ownership for 160 acres that he had measured by rods. His home, which he had already built was on this property. Adam registered his brand, ST on June 5, 1875. Adam died in 1877 and was buried on the Antelope Creek Ranch, of his son John L. Schwab, beside his grandson, Ernest S., who died in 1873. Sometime later all the bodies were moved to the Rosita Cemetery and reburied there.
