Burial was in Wayne cemetery. John Arend Antons was born Feb. 9, 1867, at Marx, Ostfriesland, Germany. He was the son of John Henry and Gesche Jansen Antons. He received elementary education in Germany. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Germany. At the age of 16 he came to America with his parents. In September, 1881, they arrived in Wayne Township Jones County. The Antons lived for five years on the Gerd Harms place and in 1892, they moved to the Mrs. William Stutt farm, later moving to near Center Junction. Mr. Antons spent the last 48 years of his life with his brother, Gerd and family. Survivors are the following brothers and sisters, Gerd Antons, Center Junction; Mrs. John Stahlberg, Monticello; Mrs. John Radloff, Wyoming; and Henry Antons, Dundee; and 20 nephews and nieces His parents preceded him in death. Casket bearers were Richard Antons, Raymond Antons, Herman Petersen, Herman Osterkamp, Elmer Hinrichs and Rhinehart Dirks.
