In ancestry.com, the family is found on the Baltimore Passenger & Immigration List: John George Haeberlein, wife Catharina, (un-named) 11 yr. old child (later determined to be Katharina), and 2 yr. old Anna, all from Weidensees, boarded the American ship Timoleon at Bremen, and arrived in Baltimore 12 Sep 1844. Occupation for John (Johann) is stated wheelwright in English; his occupation is Wagnermeister on the German immigration announcement. He took on farming in his new country. The family is listed on the transcribed 1850 U.S. Fed. Census as "Thos. G. Eveline" in Harrison Twp, Spencer County, IN. Given name is on the original hand-written census as "Jno G. Eveline" (Jno is the antiquated abbreviation for John); wife and daughters are listed, as well as 5 year old son George born in Indiana. Grandson Albert Lambeck wrote in a letter to a cousin that his grandfather Johann (Heberlein) was a Civil War soldier in the Union Army; and, that Johann & Katharina had a son who died young. Further, a letter written by great-granddaughter Alma Hempfling, said that Johann and Katharina's son was age 8 or 9 when he died; no death record or gravestone has been found. On the 1860 census, the family is listed under John G. and Catherin Haberlein, with one child Annah (by this time, older daughter Katharina had married, and son George is assumed deceased). Johann and Katharina have not been found on the 1870 census. On the 1880 census, widower John G. Hevelein is living with his daughter and son-in-law Catherine and Michael Brown (their original names: Katharina and Michäl Braun). Original gravestone is not legible in 2014; however, it has a small metal plate attached to it, identifying Johann Georg Haeberlein, birth date 12 Dec 1802, and death date 7 Feb 1887. Next to Johann's gravestone is a similar deteriorated stone which has no legible identification - is thought to be his wife's.
