Description	:	Henry Niebrugge Johann Heinrich Niebrugge (Henry J. Niebrugge) was born June 1, 1893, soouthwest of Talmage in the Charter Oak community of Nemaha county. He was the son of Fred (Fritz) and Wilhelmine (Minnie) Obermeyer Niebrugge. He moved with his parents and older brother and sisters to a farm three and a half miles south of Cook. Henry joined St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) upon his confirmation on April 12, 1908. Henry was married to to Maria Katharina (Mary Kathryn) Weber of rural Cook on March 8, 1922 at the home of the bride's parents, Charles and Minnie (Damme) Weber.... Henry joined St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) upon his confirmation on April 12, 1908. Henry was married to to Maria Katharina (Mary Kathryn) Weber of rural Cook on March 8, 1922 at the home of the bride's parents, Charles and Minnie (Damme) Weber. To this union three children were born. They lived on a farm south of Cook, engaging in farming and raising livestock until his retirement i 1958, when they moved into Cook. He was a member of the District No. 35 school board of which he served as treasurer, also the church board of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of of the Bickel-Nelson Post No. 360 of the American Legion. Henry passed away February 7 at the Tecumseh Care Center in Tecumseh, after several years of failing health. He was 95 years, eight months and six days old. Preceding him in death were his wife, Mary, who passed away at their home in Cook on April 12, 1984; an infant son, Melvin; one brother and two sisters. Henry is survived by his sons, Donald and his wife, Evelyn of Auburn and Darrel and his wife, Margaret of Cook; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, February 10 at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage), north of Cook with Rev. Paul E. Otte officiating. Pallbearers were Keith Weber, LaVerne Dieckgrafe, Delbert Drewel, Raymond Wellensiek, Eldon Damme, Delmer Niebrugge. Honorary pallbearers were Jane and Tom Skinner, Peggy and Michael Warlick, David and Melinda Niebrugge and Kent Niebrugge. Interment was in the St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Cook.
