Description	:	Becker John P W died at his home in Elkhart Twp November 27, 1904, aged 77 years, 4 months and 8 days. He was the son of John and Margaret Becker, both natives of Germany, where the father died, and where he was born July 19, 1827. The deceased was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in infancy. In 1853 he came to America, accompanied by his mother, and located at Kendallville, afterwards locating in Orange Twp, this county, where the mother died. Read More	Becker John P W died at his home in Elkhart Twp November 27, 1904, aged 77 years, 4 months and 8 days. He was the son of John and Margaret Becker, both natives of Germany, where the father died, and where he was born July 19, 1827. The deceased was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in infancy. In 1853 he came to America, accompanied by his mother, and located at Kendallville, afterwards locating in Orange Twp, this county, where the mother died. In 1860 he married Mary Stoekle, a native of Wurttemberg, Germany, and they had four sons, John, Joseph, William and Frederick, all of whom are living. In 1869 Mr. Becker and family moved to Elkhart Twp, on the farm where he continued to reside until his death. In 1870 his wife died. His second wife was Sarah J. Bloomfield, who was the daughter of Cornelius and Elizabeth Bloomfield. Mrs. Becker was a native of Ohio, and came with her parents to Orange Twp in 1853. Mr. and Mrs. Becker had five children, Lillie, Henry, Hattie, Winnie and Elmer, all of whom survive the father, except Lillie, who preceded him in death. He was baptized in the German Baptist (Dunkard) Church in 1875. He is survived by a wife, six sons and two daughters.
