He was born Jan. 8, 1891, son of Gerritt and Anna Rieken Siebels, Amber. Member of Wayne Zion Lutheran church, he was united in marriage to Anke A. Hayen April 11, 1912. He attended Amber school and farmed in Wayne Township near Amber until 1946 when he moved to Anamosa. Following the death of his wife in 1949, he moved back to the farm. He is survived by one daughter, Lucetta, Mrs. William Albers, Anamosa; three sons, Allen, Anamosa; Leeard, Cathedral City, Calif.; and Marvin, Overland Park, Kans; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Will, Anamosa; and George, Amber; one sister, Mrs. Ben Wroblewski, Central City. He was preceded in death by his wife; one son and a daughter in infancy; his parents; three brothers and one sister.
