Read More	The messenger of death in his visit to this vicinity early last Thursday morning released the spirit of Mrs. Johanna Bjorkman from its earthly abode, after a long life and journey of 84 years, 8 months and 18 days. While she has been declining in vigor and health for quite a while she was able to be about and care for herself. On last Wednesday night she became quite ill and suffered severe pain internally, which finally terminated in her death at 2 o'clock Thursday morning. Her earnest prayers to her heavenly Father, when she became sick, was to be released from this earthly life and to be taken home beyond this vale of tears and trouble, and the Merciful Father heard and answered her prayers. Little did the near Ones, who were at her bedside until death came, think or realize that her earthly life was so soon to close. Mrs. Bjorkman was born in Harja, Sweden, May 12, 1828, and was married to O. Bjorkman in 1857, and together they came to America in the year 1876. After some years' residence at Denison they moved to this locality where they resided for over twenty-five years. Only a few years ago the husband entered into the rest beyond, there to await his companion in life. This union was blessed with two children: Mrs. August Linman, of this locality, and Mrs. A. P. Nelson, of Omaha. For a number of years she lias made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Linman, and family, whose love and care she enjoyed up to her last moments. Mrs. Bjorkman became a Christian over fifty years ago, and had lived a true Christian life ever since. Of a quiet and reserved nature, she lived an exemplified life. Besides her two daughters she leaves one brother, Mr. Carl Christianson, of Kiron, two sons in-law, nine grand children and many friends who, while saddened by her death, know that she has safely leached the harbor of peace and freed from all pain and sickness. The funeral was held on Saturday from the August Linman home and was attended by quite a number of neighbors and old friends. The service was conducted by Rev. A. Ander son, pastor of the Baptist church, of which she had been a member for many years. Her remains were laid to rest beside her husband's in the Kiron cemetery. Thus another aged resident in this locality has been added to the many who have been summoned across the river of death into eternity. Peace unto her memory.
