Description	:	SPALDING — Johanna M. Denson, 96, of Greeley, formerly of Spalding, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Greeley Care Home in Greeley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spalding, with the Revs. Antony Thekkekara and James Murphy officiating. Denson, 96, of Greeley, formerly of Spalding, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Greeley Care Home in Greeley. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Spalding. Johanna Mary Denson, the daughter of John G. and Martha (Bloomquist) Reiter, was born on Nov. 14, 1920, at Spalding. She was baptized at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spalding. Johanna attended school at a country school near Spalding until the eighth grade, and later received her GED. Johanna moved to Omaha, and worked at the Omaha Bomber Plant on the Enola Gay during World War II. On Nov. 13, 1954, Johanna was united in marriage to Alfred N. Denson at Neligh. The couple lived on farms at Wayne and Beldon, where Johanna was a housewife. They later moved to Spalding where Johanna worked at the Spalding Manor as a cook until her retirement. Johanna was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spalding. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter Dorothy Glaser of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Erin Valentine and her daughter, Isla of Darien, Ill., and Eric Glaser and his children, Jackson and Logan of Medford, N.J., and brother Robert Reiter of California, along with other relatives and friends. Johanna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alfred; three brothers, Tom, John and Bill, and her sister, Monica. Dolce-Scheef Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
