Description	:	JOHANNES LEVIN Johannes Levin dies at his home two and one half miles east of Essex last Friday, November 29, 1895, at 4 p.m. after a sickness of many weeks, at the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 25 days. The deceased was born in Sweden, but immigrated to this country in 1867. He was married twice, his first wife dying a short time after he arrived in this country. Read More	JOHANNES LEVIN Johannes Levin dies at his home two and one half miles east of Essex last Friday, November 29, 1895, at 4 p.m. after a sickness of many weeks, at the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 25 days. The deceased was born in Sweden, but immigrated to this country in 1867. He was married twice, his first wife dying a short time after he arrived in this country. He has been a resident of this vicinity many years. He was a good neighbor, a kind father and a true friend. He was a member of the Swedish Lutheran church here. He is mourned by a wife, three sons, and one daughter. Several grandchildren, and a large number of relatives and friends. All of the sons were present at the funeral, namely John and Peter Levin, of this vicinity and Alf Levin of Stanton. The daughter could not be present as she is living in Sweden. The funeral was held Monday afternoon, December 2, 1895. A short service at his home at 1 o'clock. From there a large number of friends followed the remains to the Swedish Lutheran Church where the services were held at 2 o'clock. Rev. P. Peterson preached a fine sermon from Luke 12:37-38. The sermon was preached in the Swede Lutheran Chruch. The floral offerings consisted of a beautiful wreath also a sheaf. The pallbearers were Chas. Danielson, A. J. Johnson, Fred Falk, A. J. Lagerquist, Geo. Lagerquist, and Andrew England. At the conclusion of the services a final look was taken at the last mortal remains of the deceased after which a long cartage followed the body to its last resting place in the Essex Cemetery, Original Sixth Row, Lot 11. A large number of sympathizing friends were present at the services. The sorrowing wife, children, and relatives have the sympathy of all in their hour of sorrow.
