Description	:	CHRISTINA SWANSON Mrs. Christina Swanson was born in Skypserslad, Sweden, November 20, 1847. She came to this country in 1870 and joined the Swedish Lutheran Church of Essex, Iowa in 1878 and of which she was a member until her death. She was married to Charles J. Swanson in 1901 and has been a widow since 1908. She died at the age of 82 years and 7 months at Essex, Iowa on June 20, 1930, at the home of her niece, Mrs. William Westman where she was tenderly cared for during her last illness. She leaves to... Read More	CHRISTINA SWANSON Mrs. Christina Swanson was born in Skypserslad, Sweden, November 20, 1847. She came to this country in 1870 and joined the Swedish Lutheran Church of Essex, Iowa in 1878 and of which she was a member until her death. She was married to Charles J. Swanson in 1901 and has been a widow since 1908. She died at the age of 82 years and 7 months at Essex, Iowa on June 20, 1930, at the home of her niece, Mrs. William Westman where she was tenderly cared for during her last illness. She leaves to mourn a sister, Mrs. J. E. Joneson of Creston, Iowa and a brother August Skallberg of Wausa, Nebraska and many other relatives. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon 2:30 at the home of Wm Westman and 3:00 o'clock at the Swedish Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor, Dr. J. A. Holmen. The singing was furnished by the Westman sisters quartette. Pallbearers were: Gust Edholm, A. D. Collins, J. S. Nordtsrom, John Hagglund, Henry Johnson, and Nels Larson. She was laid to rest in the Essex cemetery, Original Sixth Row, Lot 11. The funeral was in charge of W. O. Carson, local Mortician.
