From what we've found, Johannes Mollenkopf was born in Germany (probably Wuertemburg) in 1793 and died in Ohio in 1857. He married an Anne Barbara Beel of Pfullingen, Germany (1799-1859) and they settled in Ohio. Their children include Ann, Margaret, Catharine, Louisa, and Jacob, my ggg-grandfather who is buried at the Unity Brick Church in Unity, Col. Co., Ohio. end He mentioned Mollenkopfs of Crawford Co possibly being connected. In our "Rupert" search we found some Ruperts who also migrated from Columbiana Co to Crawford Co seeking better and more farmland. 9-8-2018 From 47509378 Susan Mitchell 1. Correct surname spelling is Mollenkopf. What appears to be an "o" on this stone as in Mollonkopf is actually an "e" in old German script. 2.Johannes Mollenkopf is a distant cousin to me. He was the youngest of four sons of: Jacob Friedrich Mollenkopf 17 Oct 1760 - 16 Nov 1834, and Eleonora Keppeler 5 Jul 1761 - 31 Jan 1835. Both parents were born and died in the town of Pfullingen, in the Reutlingen district of Württemberg, which was also the place of Johannes' birth. Maternal grandparents were Johann Georg Keppeler 1725-1785 and Eleonora Klingenstein b 1725, both also from Pfullingen. 3. Johannes Mollenkopf 's eldest brother Johann Jacob died at age 2 weeks in 1785. The other two brothers Johann Georg 1786-1855 and Jacob Friedrich 1791-1826 also emigrated to Ohio in the early 1800s and are buried in Columbiana County. 4. This family has ancestors dating to at least the mid 1500s in Pfullingen. 5. Sourcing for these lines is the Familienregister from the church in Pfullingen.
