Survivors are his wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Devona and Jerry Burklund of Sutton, Quilla and Bill Ulmer of Aurora, Sara and Larry Nuss of Sutton, Paige and Fred Reichert of Lincoln; son, John Jay Bruner of Grafton; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Barthel of Amelia, Neb., and Donna Thompson of Grand Island. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services were April 29 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grafton with Rev. Darren Green officiating. Special music was "Amazing Grace" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" sung by the congregation. Interment was private. The Nebraska Signal May 1999
