Bull Jr., 80, a lifelong Kittitas Valley resident, died Friday, March 7, 1997 at the Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. He was born on September 27, 1916 in Ellensburg to John and Margaret (Porter) Bull. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary, a daughter, Susan, and grandson Conrad Bull. Jack graduated from Ellensburg High School with the Class of 1934. He then went on to study Botany at the Oregon State University and later studied Engineering at the University of Washington. He was married to Mary E. (Dimm) on May 11, 1940. In December 1940 Jack received his private pilots license and was proud to have served as a Naval Aviator during World War II. Following the war, Jack and Mary returned to operate the family farm on Bull Road. During the war, Jack also worked the winter months in Seattle as a precision machinist building intricate scale models in the Boeing model shop for wind tunnel testing. After retiring from farming, Jack and Mary founded "Bull's Gourmet Foods" in 1985. On October 19, 1995 Jack married Shirley (Wilkins) bull. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge and American Legion and in his leisure time enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bull; son, John and wife Suzanne Bull and their children, Daphne and husband Chad Kaiser, Stephanie and husband Mike Pottichen and Eric Walth; daughter Peggy Bull; brothers, Walter and Leland. Additionally, he is survived by 6 stepchildren, 10 step grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren through his wife Shirley. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 1997 at the Steward & Williams Chapel. The American Legion would like to invite family and friends to a reception at the Vista House following the memorial service.
