Description	:	J. A. (Ambrose) Whalen, 76, died early Sunday at his home in Greeley after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in the Sacred Heart Church in Greeley at ten o'clock with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. T. J. Finn and sons handled the arrangements. Born November 12, 1880 at Joliet, Illinois, Mr. Whalen came to Greeley county at the age of four with his family and he lived the rest of his life in the Greeley community. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; four sons, Jack, Bert, Louis and Rolland, all of Greeley; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Rother of Wolbach and Mrs. Robert Marco of Greeley: 26 grandchidlren and six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Lester Nowak of Grand Island, Mrs. Will Harrahill of Mt. Angel, Oregon, Mrs. Madeline Whalen of San Francisco, California and Mrs. Thomas McGowan of Omaha. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Robert and a sister, Agnes.
