Description	:	John August Depke, son of Henry Ernest and Irnda (sic) Depke, was born in Fairfax, Missouri, on December 29, 1993. His early life was spent in that area farming. Mr. Depke was called upon to care for himself and his sisters after his mother passed away during his youth. Read More	John August Depke, son of Henry Ernest and Irnda (sic) Depke, was born in Fairfax, Missouri, on December 29, 1993. His early life was spent in that area farming. Mr. Depke was called upon to care for himself and his sisters after his mother passed away during his youth. On December 2, 1908, he was united in marriage at Craig, Mo., to Eunice Huffman and to this union four children were born. Three have preceded him in death. In 1910 he moved with his family to a farm near Chester, Nebraska, where he lived until 1930 when he moved to his present home northeast of Hardy, Nebraska. In January of 1958, Mr. Depke had a heart attack and was confined to the hospital in Superior for several weeks. From this illness he recovered and was active again. Three weeks ago he suffered another heart attack and passed away in the hospital at Fairbury, Nebraska, on October 22, 1958. He is survived by his wife, Eunice; his daughter, Mrs. Maxine Andres of Fairbury; a sister, Mrs. Gus Henstorf of Chester; and two grandchildren of Fairbury. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Anna. Mr. Depke's chief interest was farming. He was a member of the Union Church of Hardy, Nebraska. He will be remembered for his ability to make friends easily and will be missed by his neighbors and many friends, as well as by his family.
