Description	:	Venerable Citizen Of Reynolds Dead John Bardonner, Sr., died Tuesday night at 10 o'clock at his home in Reynolds, following a short illness. He had been ailing for the past several years but seemed to be as usual until Tuesday afternoon when he took suddenly ill, dying a few hours later. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. Read More	Venerable Citizen Of Reynolds Dead John Bardonner, Sr., died Tuesday night at 10 o'clock at his home in Reynolds, following a short illness. He had been ailing for the past several years but seemed to be as usual until Tuesday afternoon when he took suddenly ill, dying a few hours later. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. Mr. Bardonner was eighty years old at the time of his death, having been born December 27, 1839, near Cicero, Indiana. He was married in 1863, after which he lived for a time in Missouri. For the past forty-four years he has resided near or in Reynolds and has seen the community there develop from woods and swamp land to one of better farming communities in the state. He was a large land-holder until several years ago when he sold his land southwest of Reynolds. He was a well-known man and with him is lost one of the pioneers of the community. For quite a number of years he and his wife have been making their home at their property on North Main street in Reynolds. The deceased is survived by his wife; three sons, Henry, John and Carl Bardonner, of Reynolds; and five daughters, Mrs. Charles F. Heimlich, Mrs. E. G. Wiese, and Mrs. Louis Erdmann, of Reynolds, and Mrs. Emma Heimlich and Mrs. Gus Pfeiffer of Lafayette. In addition, many grand-children and five great-grand-children survive. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon from the St. James Lutheran church, at Reynolds, of which he was a devout member for many years. Friends are asked to omit flowers. Obituary published in the Journal and Courier (Lafayette, IN), on Wednesday, March 3, 1920, pg. 2.
