Description	:	OTEC is FATHER in Czech. John Barta, father of our esteemed Clerk of the District Court, F.A. Barta, died suddenly at his home near Pischelville, Thursday morning, Sept. 30 at 4:30. He had been ill for some time, but was not dangerously ill until just a short time before his death. Word came to Center and his son, F.A. Barta and family, started with Vac Vlasnik for his bedside. He had been ill for some time, but was not dangerously ill until just a short time before his death. Word came to Center and his son, F.A. Barta and family, started with Vac Vlasnik for his bedside. They left Center at 1:30 a.m., arriving at Pischelville 15 minutes after Mr. Barta had passed away. John Barta was born in Bohemia, May 8, 1847. He came to this country when 21 years of age, settling in Chicago. From there he moved to Pischelville 40 years ago. He married Anna Scheiner 45 years ago. She survives as do the children; Rudolph, Raymond, Bertha Diez, Millie Vonasek, Tillie Pischell, Albert and Otto of Pischelville, Emma Erstman of Chicago and Frank of Center. The oldest child died in infancy. The funeral was held at Pischelville, Saturday under the auspices of the ZCBJ. Mr. Barta was one of the early pioneers, who has changed Western Knox County into the thriving and prosperous county it is today. Those days required thrift, courage and the sturdiest manhood to wrest success from countless obstacles and from it grew up a class of pioneers, who have been a blessing to those of the present day. It is with the keenest sense of regret that we see old timers passing away.
