Fr. Harepnau led the recitation at 8 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Bierl, son of George Bierl Sr. and Frances Rail Bierl was born Nov. 30, 1869 in Germany. He came to the United States as a child and settled in Carroll County. Mr. Bierl was married in June 1892 to Mary Dopheide who died April 26, 1908. In 1910, he married Anna Busch who died in July 1929. On Aug. 3, 1932, he was married to Bernadine Rahm, who survives. Survivors include seven children, all of the first marriage: Mrs. Kate Fischer, Templeton; Joseph Bierl, Detroit, Mich.: Edward and Henry Bierl, Carroll: Sr. Mary Catherine (Clara) Baraboo, Wis.; Sr. Mary Sienna Cecelia St. Louis, MO; and Frank Bierl Dedham; one sister, Mrs. Frances Klocke Dedham: two brothers, Anton Bierl, Rochester, Minn., and George Bierl, Fonda: 32 grandchildren and 74 great grandchildren. One son, John Bierl, one daughter, Mrs. Alver Rose Stangl, one grandchild, and several great grandchildren are deceased. Mr. Bierl lived in the Templeton vicinity until the fall of 1936 when he moved to St. Benedict, residing there until he became ill. His wife lives at St. Benedict. He succumbed to a long illness at 6:17 Saturday morning in St. Anthony Hospital, where he had been a patient three days. He had been taken to the hospital from the Tryon Nursing Home here.
