Description	:	Funeral services for John Boerner, 77, were Saturday afternoon at his home at 1:45 and from the Methodist church at two o'clock. Interment was made in the Odebolt Cemetery. Mr. Boerner had been in failing health for several years, but had a cheerful disposition and was patient in the days of suffering. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Paul R. Johnson. During the service a quartet, Reuben Lindskoog, Wayne Lindskoog, Dennis Lindskoog and Roger Linman sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Rock of Ages." They were accompanied by Mrs. W.G. Horstman. Pallbearers were six nephews, Roy Boerner, Dallas Boerner, Laurel Hoff, Roland Roth, Vern Roth and Lyle Eaton. John Boerner, son of John Adam and Anna Sibilla Boerner, was born April 11, 1871, at Eldena, Ill., and died April 22, at the age of 77 years and 11 days. He was baptized in infancy in the Evangelical church and was received into the Odebolt Methodist church May 10, 1925. When 19 he moved with his parents to a farm southeast of Odebolt where he lived for 53 years. Dec. 20, 1899, he was united in marriage to Lena Roth. Mr. Boerner leaves five children, Glenn, Vern, Wayne and Ralph Boerner, all of Odebolt, and Earl of Cottonwood, Minn. There were 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Other immediate survivors are his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Grant Bly (Emma) and Mrs. Floyd Hoff (Ricky) both of DeLand, Fla.; two brothers, Will of Winner, S.D., and Ernest of Enid, Okla., and other relatives and friends. His mother and father preceded him in death also one brother, Henry and two sisters, Lena and Anna. Relatives from out of town at the services were Mrs. Emma Schafer, Charles Schafer and Oscar Weiner, Ashton, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Boerner and sons, Dwayne, Jackie, Melvin, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Boerner, Inez Boerner, Mr. and Mrs. Luverne Seversen, Cottonwood, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. James Harmon of Balaton, Minn.; Will Boerner, Mrs. Clyde Hartman, Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Boerner, Mrs. Harold Boerner, Winner, S.D.; Roy Boerner, Randolph, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Clay Anthony, Kansas City, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Laurel Hoff, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Boerner, Marshall, Minn.; Mrs. H.G. Rath, Leslie Hoff, Neva Hoff, Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Roth, Dysart; Mr. and Mrs. John Roth, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Roth, Mr. and Mrs. Art Eaton, Wall Lake; Ruth and Katherine Frank of Beatrice, Nebr., and many other relatives and friends from Odebolt and neighboring towns.
