Description	:	From The Skidmore New Era, March 30, 1905, page 1, column 4: "John Owens Dead. John Owens died at his home in Omaha, Nebraska, last Monday. The body was brought to Skidmore Tuesday evening, and taken to the residence of James Shull, where the funeral was held Wednesday after noon. Interment in Groves Cemetery. He was married at the age of 29 to Miss Sue Sullivan, February 13, 1898. He later went to Omaha where he spent the remainder of his life. The cause of death was pneumonia. He was ill but nine days, was a patient sufferer. Death came as a peaceful relief from suffering. His wife, one child, a little boy six years of age and a host of other relatives survive him."
