Description	:	Chris Lovfald, well known Eureka businessman and president of Bay Tank and Boiler Works, Inc., died Sunday at a local hospital following a heart attack. Lovfald was born in Fleming, Colo., September 21, 1890, coming to Humboldt at the age of nine. He settled with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Lovfald in Fields Landing. In 1945 he... Read More	Chris Lovfald, well known Eureka businessman and president of Bay Tank and Boiler Works, Inc., died Sunday at a local hospital following a heart attack. Lovfald was born in Fleming, Colo., September 21, 1890, coming to Humboldt at the age of nine. He settled with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Lovfald in Fields Landing. Lovfald married Matilda Johnson October 7, 1913. He was employed by the Northwestern Pacific Railroad in Fields Landing. He moved to Eureka and was foreman of Eureka Boiler Works for many years. In 1945 he began the Bay Tank and Boiler Works, Inc., of which he was president until his death. Lovfald was a member of Sempervirens Lodge No. 552 F. and A. M.; Aahmes Temple Shrine; Oakland Consistory of Scottish Rite and Redwood Shrine Club. Lovfald is survived by his wife, Matilda; daughter, Mrs. Hazel Cunningham; brothers, Peter Lovfald, John Lovfald and Fred Lovfald, Fields Landing; sister, Mrs. Mabel Krupka, Eureka; granddaughters, Garry Lee Cunningham and Debbie Ann Cunningham Eureka; nephews, Homer and Lloyd McKenzie, Gerald and Howard Lovfald, all of Eureka. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 1:30, under the auspices of Sempervirens Lodge. The Rev. Otis Lee will officiate. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park. Pierce Mortuary will direct the services.
