Description	:	John D. Morrisey, 62, died at 5:50 p.m. June 7, 2010, at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, following a battle with heart and lung problems and the onset of cancer. He was born Jan. 14, 1948, in St. Johns to Maurice and Neva L. Anderson Morrisey, who preceded him in death. On July 18, 1971, he married Linda L. Myers, who survives in Lima. Mr. Morrisey retired, for medical reasons, as a maintenance man from Brower Commons Apartments, after 10 years. Mr. Morrisey retired, for medical reasons, as a maintenance man from Brower Commons Apartments, after 10 years. He had also been an auxiliary police officer for the Spencerville Police Department, manager of the Allen County Ambulance Service, and a truck driver and warehouseman for B&T Distributing. He enjoyed volunteering his services to the area's law enforcement agencies and fire departments by directing traffic for them at scenes of emergencies. He was an Army veteran serving from 1967 to 1969. He loved to go camping, fishing and having family cookouts. He loved his dog Rambo. Follow the stairway to heaven and I will see you again someday. Survivors also include two sons, Joseph D. (Clara Marie) Morrisey and Glenn T. (Andrea) Morrisey, both of Lima; two daughters, Angela E. Morrisey, of Lima, and April L. (Lee Newman) Morrisey, of Alger; a brother, Robert Morrisey, of New York City; two sisters, Lois K. (Frank Peppers) Morrisey, of Lima, and Ruth A. (Bob) Spivey, of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, Dawson T. Morrisey, Joseph Stebleton and Mikkaiah Stebleton; a stepgranddaughter, Sammantha Stebleton; a great-grandson, Jaden Stebleton; and a sister-in-law, Jackie Morrisey, of Lima. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and David Morrisey; two sisters, Betty Reese and Janice Schaefer; and a grandson, Dylan T. Morrisey. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Randy Davis will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Bluelick Cemetery.
