Himmelman. The late Mr. Himmelman was born at New Cumberland eighty-two years ago, and was the son of the late David and Sophia Himmelman. Read More	John David Himmelman Bridgewater Bulletin On Saturday morning, May 4th., the community of Crousetown was deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing at his home, of one of its best known and most highly respected residnets, John D. Himmelman. The late Mr. Himmelman was born at New Cumberland eighty-two years ago, and was the son of the late David and Sophia Himmelman. In his early life, he spent many years in the United States and the remainder of his life in Crousetown, where he was postmaster and conducted a small grocery store for the past forty years. He was a member of the United Church and also a member of the United Church Choir for many years. His first wife, Charlotte Sarty, predeceased him in 1908, by whom he had one daughter, Violet (Mrs. Gilbert Clattenburg). He leaves to mourn their loss, his second wife, the former Olivia Wamback, by whom he had five children, two sons, Lester, serving with the R.C.A.F., Penhold, Alberta; Gerald of Crousetown; and one daughter, Dorothy, at home. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one brother, Robert of Brooklyn. Predeceasing him were one daughter, Marguerite, in infancy; and one son, Ernest, while serving in World War II; also four sisters and five brothers. The funeral service was held from the United Church, Crousetown, on Tuesday afternoon, May 7th., at 2:30 p.m. Officiating at the service was supply pastor, Mr. Ralph Miller. Hymns sung were "By Cool Siloam"and "Unto the Hills," favourite hymns of the deceased. The organist was Mrs. Wilfred Crouse. Pall bearers were William Ramey, Morris Ramey, Gordon Ramey, Arthur Bolivar, George Snyder, and Grant Crouse. Interment took place in the family lot in the Crousetown Community Cemetery.
