Description	:	John De Boom, 81, of Orange City, died Wednesday in a hospital in Orange City. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the First Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Thomas Vanden Heuvel officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens in Sioux Center. Family visitation was from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Van Gelder Funeral Home. Mr. De Boom was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Clifford of Lynden, Wash., Richard of Hawarden, Robert of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Gerrit of Janesville, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Christine) Van Houten of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Herlah (Betty) Schut of Orange City and Mrs. Leroy (Esther) Altena of Maurice; two. stepsons, Merwyn Scholten of Charleston, W.Va., and Marlowe Scholten of Gurnee, Ill.; four brothers, Arie of Sioux Center, Cornelius of Harris, Henry of Minneapolis and Simon of LeMars; a sister, Mrs. John (Lucy) Luinstra of Bellflower, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and four step grandchildren.
