She got out of bed for a moment at about 10:30 Saturday evening, and dropped over dead. Funeral services were held at noon Wednesday in the Vande Kamp home, and at 2 o'clock in the Second Christian Reformed church, Sioux Center. Burial was in Sioux Center. The Rev. J. R. Van Dyke of Ireton officiated at the services. Mrs. Vande Kamp was born April 13, 1906, in Sheldon. Her maiden name was Marie De Boon, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. De Boon. She was married Jan. 9, 1929, to Mr. Vande Kamp at Sioux Center. They lived at Sheldon for a year following their marriage, then moved to Sioux Center where they resided for nine years. The family moved to the farm in Plymouth county two years ago. Mrs. Vande Kamp's passing leaves motherless five children, Gene, 10; Mary, 8; Charles Allen, 7; Gerrit Anthony, 5; and Alwayne Myron, 14 days. She is survived also by her husband; her mother, Mrs. C. T. De Boon of Middleburg, Iowa; two sisters; and eight brothers. -Obituary from The Hawarden Independent (8/14/1941)
