John Deichert, son of martin Sr. and Emma (Kuntz) Deichert was born May 20, 1920. He grew up and was educated in the raleigh area. John was united in marriage to Laura Kahl on June 11, 1945, in St. Gertrude's Catholic Church. John and Laura were blessed with 11 wonderful children. John farmed for 40 years and also was a school bus driver for 13 years. After John's retirement, he and Laura moved to Bismarck. He spent many hours in his workshop doing woodwork which he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends. Those who were blessed to known John will remember him for his kind and gentle nature. He loved to visit. No one was a stranger to John, he talked to everyone he saw. His big smile was always there to brighten the day. He will be missed greatly. We love you Dad. He is survived by his wife, Laura; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and Dallas Sailer, Mesa, Arizona, Judy Deichert and friend, Larry Bicknell, Cathedral City, California, and Liz Deichert, Cil Deichert, and Susie and Pat Mueller, all of Bismarck; five sons and three daughters-in-law, John Jr. and Vivian Deichert, Steve and Nancy Deichert and Tom Deichert, all of Bismarck, Bill and Cheryl Deichert, Rapid City, South Dakota, and Pat Deichert, Chandler, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two brothers, Harry and Joe, both of Bismarck. John was preceded in death by his son, James; his parents; four brothers and one sister.
