Laura (Kahl) Deichert, daughter of Philip and Margaret (Schwalick) Kahl was born November 26, 1925. She grew up and was educated in the Shields, North Dakota, area. Laura was united in marriage to John Deichert, June 11, 1945, in St. Gertrude Catholic Church. They were blessed with 11 children. "We love you Mom." Laura was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and housewife. She and John farmed at Raleigh for 40 years. They retired and moved to Bismarck in the early 90's. Of her many talents, Laura loved to cook, bake, crochet, quilt, write letters and genealogy. She loved to visit with family and friends and enjoyed the yearly camping weekends at the farm. Laura is survived by five daughters and two sons-in-law, Cil Deichert, Bismarck, Linda and dallas Sailer, Mesa, Arizona, Judy Deichert and friend, Larry Bicknell, Catherdral City, California, and Liz Deichert and Susie and Pat Mueller, all of Bismarck; five sons and three daughters-in-law, John Jr. and Vivian Deichert, Steve and Nancy Deichert, and Tom Deichert, all of Bismarck, Bill and Cheryl Deichert, Rapid City, South Dakota, and Pat Deichert, Chandler, Arizona; three sisters, Anna Miller, Bismarck, Angie Bliven, Van Nuys, California, and Pauline Draskovic, Ipswich, South Dakota; 12 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Laura was preceded in death by her husband, John Deichert, who died January 09, 2003; her son, James; one grandson, Zachary; her parents; three brothers; and one sister.
