A few years later he moved to Middleborough, Ky., where he met and married Jessie Bell Lair. [They married 29 Nov 1892 in Scott County, Ky.] She died shortly after the birth of a daughter, Lucy. He returned to Redfield in 1896, where he was in business until his death. He married Katharine Meyers at Redfield in December of 1902. Mr. Fargo was active in community and civic affairs. He served as postmaster, Spink County Auditor and Treasurer. He was a member of the Kiwanis, Shriners, Masons and Oddfellows. He was in the real estate and insurance business at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Katharine; a daughter, Mrs. Lucy Long of Redfield; one sister, Mrs. C. Q. Hartshorn of Longmont, Colo; two grandchildren and one great grandson.
