Lucy Fargo was born Feb 9, 1896, at Georgetown, Kentucky. As a small child she moved with her father to Doland. She graduated from Redfield High School and attended the University of South Dakota, vermillion. In 1917 she recieved her degree from the University of Minnesota and taught for a short time in New York and Kentucky. She returned to Doland and later married John L. Long in 1924. they lived in Doland until 1940, when they moved to Redfield. Mr. Long died in 1951. She then married Lyn [Len] Robertson in 1957 [23 Nov 1957, Brown Co., SD] and he died in 1966. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta; the United Methodist Church, Redfield; the Woman's Society of Christian Service and the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Norbert (Sally) Tompkin, Sedalia, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Marlys Long, Redfield; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands and one son.
