The deceased was buried in the Catholic cemetery at Freeburg, Rev. G. Fick, pastor of the church at that place officiating." An article in the Osage County Historical Society Nesletter of Jul 2010 describes the early founders of Freeburg, including Joseph Koerber, his father John Koerber - farmer, Engelbert Franke - businessman, John Welschmeyer - postmaster and businessman, and Joseph Poettgen - blacksmith.
