Description	:	Funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church in Kenmare Saturday for John Elis Oberg, 90, a retired farmer of the Tolley community. He died July 31st in a Minot nursing home. He had been in failing health for 4 1/2 years. Rev. Frank Pedersen officiated. Vocalist was Gloria Benson, and organist, Rebecca Pederson. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Mahnke, Soren Hansen, C.W. Jones, Charles Ekberg, Percy Ledene, Otto M. Carlson, Otto E. Nelson, Alf Olson and Werner Ostlund. Mr. Oberg was born Jan. 28, 1873, in Sweden. He moved from Sweden to Graceville, Minn., then settled on a homestead in Renville County in 1898. He married Anna Marie Nordstrom in 1907 at Norma. Mr. Oberg was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and treasurer. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Astrid) Breding of Stanley, and Mrs. Irvin (Lillian) Purdy of Kenmare; one son, Carl of Tolley; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
