Description	:	Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m., from the First Baptist church in Kenmare, for Mrs. John E. Oberg, 68, pioneer of the community, who succumbed at her home at Tolley, Thursday morning, of a heart attack. The Rev. James Bell, pastor of the church officiated, and interment was made in Lakeview cemetery. Mrs. LeRoy Nelson was organist at the service. Pallbearers were Paul Mahnke, Soren Hansen, Fred Jensen, Jens Carlson, John Carlson and Ernest Sackreiter. The Ringen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Oberg's passing came as a distinct shock to her many friends. She had awakened at the usual hour in the morning, seemingly in good health, but expired a short time thereafter. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nordstrom, pioneers of the community, she was born in Hurud, Sweden, Nov. 17, 1884, and came here with her parents, Nov. 22, 1901. Her marriage to John E. Oberg, also a native of Sweden, was solemnized at Minot, Jan. 18, 1907. Surviving in addition to the husband, are two daughters and a son. The children are Mrs. Irvin Purdy, Kenmare; Carl Oberg, Tolley and Mrs. Gordon Breding, Stanley. She is also survived by four brothers and three sisters. They are Alfred and Carl Nordstrom, Canwood, Sask.; Oscar Nordstrom, Minot; Victor Nordstrom, Norma; Mrs. Arthur Nelson, Norma; Mrs. Ellen Petersen, Kenmare and Mrs. H.E. Nelson, Arlington, Calif. There are seven grandchildren. Relatives from a distance attending the last rites were: Alfred Nordstrom, Bertell Hillman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nordstrom, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Nordstrom, Mrs. David Schutte and Mrs. Otis Millard and daughter Fernelle of Canwood, Sask.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nelson, Arlington, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Nordstrom, Minot. Gust Ulander and Mrs. Christine Martin, Kenosha, Wisc.; Mrs. John Frank, Herman, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Art Kling and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Art Frank and daughter of Donnelly, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Johnson, Morris, Minn., and Mrs. W.C.
