"Jack" Fazenbaker June 3, 1924 - August 2, 2015 FORT ASHBY-John E. “Jack” Fazenbaker, 91, of Fort Ashby, formerly of Cumberland and Westernport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Dawnview Center in Fort Ashby, surrounded by his family. Born on June 3, 1924, in Akron, OH, Jack was the son of the late Lula and Wilbert Fazenbaker. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Naomi P. “Nancy” Fazenbaker on March 7, 2015. Jack was a wonderful man with a heart of gold who would do anything for anybody. He was always there for anybody who needed his help, no matter what the problem was or what needed done. He loved God, his country, and his family unconditionally. Jack will be missed by his family and his many friends. He is now in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior where he will suffer no more. Jack has now been reunited with his loving wife, Nancy, in Heaven where they will part no more, as well as family and friends who have gone before him. Rest peacefully. Jack was a 1942 graduate of Bruce High School. He was a member of Living Stone Church of the Brethren. He was also a member of the American Legion, Victory Post 155, in Westernport, MD, Hiram Masonic Lodge #103 in Westernport, where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, and the Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II from 1942 to 1946, and US Army Active Duty during the Korean War from 1950 to 1951. Jack is survived by his sister, Wanda DeVore; his son, John Fazenbaker and wife Laura; daughter, Ellen Lewis and husband Steve; grandchildren, Ann Marie Gomez and husband Francisco, Stefanie Broadway and husband Asia, Michael Fazenbaker and fiancé Tara, Amy Cianelli and husband Ben, Wade Lewis and wife Tasia, and Shaun Lewis. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Kaelynn, Kaiya, Kaden, Emma, Parker, Braelyne, Kinley, and Owen. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Wednesday, August 5, from 3 to 6 p.m. A Masonic Service will follow at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Living Stone Church of the Brethren, Second and Cedar Streets, Cumberland, on Thursday, August 6, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gerald Hott officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Cumberland. Pallbearers will be Michael Fazenbaker, Wade Lewis, Shaun Lewis, Parker Twigg, Ben Cianelli, and Joel Hutson. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Dawnview Center for their dedicated care and for their love and friendship they showed every day to Jack and the family.
