"Nancy" Fazenbaker December 6, 1928 - March 7, 2015 Naomi P. “Nancy” Fazenbaker, 86, of Fort Ashby, formerly of Cumberland and Westernport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Dawnview Center in Fort Ashby, WV, following a long battle with Alzheimers Disease. Born in Luke, MD, on December 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Sextus and Lillie (Clark) Hitt. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Nancy was a very sweet, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed, but she is in a better place with her Lord and Savior, where she will suffer no more. It has been a long, difficult battle for her, but she is now happy and at peace with her family and friends who have gone before her. She will also be missed by her Church Family and many friends. She was a member of the Living Stone Church of the Brethren in Cumberland, MD. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Victory Post 155 in Westernport, MD. Nancy is survived by her husband of 66 years, John E. “Jack” Fazenbaker; son, John Fazenbaker and wife Laura; daughter, Ellen Lewis and husband Steve; grandchildren, Ann Marie Gomez and husband Francisco, Stefanie Broadway and husband Asia, Michael Fazenbaker and fiancé Tara, Amy Cianelli and husband Ben, Wade Lewis and wife Tasia, and Shaun Lewis; and great-grandchildren, Kaelynn, Kaiya, Kaden, Emma, Parker, Braelyne, Kinley, and Owen. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Monday, March 9 from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 10 at the Living Stone Church of the Brethren, Second and Cedar Streets, Cumberland, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Gerald Hott officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael Fazenbaker, Wade Lewis, Shaun Lewis, Ben Cianelli, Parker Twigg, and Bob Harden. The family would like to thank the staff at Dawnview Center for the love, compassion, and excellent care they gave Nancy. Thank you also for the concern and love shown to our entire family.
