Description	:	Funeral services for John Elmer Dean, 84 of Brunswick were held June 2 at the Brunswick Congregational Church with Rev. Roy Haun officiating. Singers were Mrs. Eldon March and Mrs. Dale Greenamyre. Mrs. R. E. Cole was pianist. Pallbearers were grandson Donald Dean, Merle, Hoel, Ted and Donny Allemang and Ralph Patras. Burial was in the Brunswick Cemetery. Mr. Dean was born July 11, 1880 at Topeka, KS to Mr.and Mrs. Henry E. Dean. He died June 8 at the Plainview General Hospital. He moved to Brunswick with his family at the age of 3 and settled on a homestead southeast of town.... He moved to Brunswick with his family at the age of 3 and settled on a homestead southeast of town. As a small boy, he was baptized in the Baptist Church. He married Miss Myrtle Grubbs of Brunswick July 11, 1901. He farmed until 1936 when the family moved to town. The Deans had 10 children. Survivors include his widow, five daughters, Mrs. Viola Allemang of Clearwater, Mrs. Ivadelle Sedivy of Brunswick, Mrs. Dorothy Rouse of Sumner, WA, Mrds. Ruby Shong of Arvada, CO, Mrs. Lois Miller of Elgin; one son Harold of Arvada, CO; two brothers Arthur of Scottsbluff and Leonard of Fresno, CA; 23 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Malinda; a son Walter and two children who died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Dean celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1951 and their 60th wedding anniversary in 1961.
