Description	:	Funeral services were held for Mrs. John (Myrtle) Dean, 85, of Brunswick, at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Brunswick. The Rev. Fred C Gardner officiated at the last rites. "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Face to face" were sung by Mrs. Eldon Marsh and Mrs. Dale Greenamyre, accompanied by Mrs. Riley Rouse, pianist. Burial was in the Brunswick Cemetery at Brunswick. Pallbearers were Ralph Patas, Donald Dean, Merle Allemang, Hoel Allemang, Leon Allemang, and Donny Allemang. Myrtle Grace Dean was born on December 21, 1883 at Carroll, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs.Squire Allen Grubbs. She passed away on Tuesday, December 2, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Irvin Sedivy. She moved to Brunswick with her family at the age of eight and settled on a homestead one mile south and one-half west of Brunswick. As a young girl, about 70 years ago she accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized and joined the Congregational Church in Brunswick at that time and has been a faithful member ever since. She was married to John E. Dean of Brunswick at Neligh, NE on July 11, 1901. They farmed until 1936 when the family moved to Brunswick. She was the mother of 10 children. Mr. and Mrs. Dean celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1951 and their 60th anniversary in 1961. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, a daughter Malinda; a son Walter and two children who died in infancy and her husband John on June 5, 1965. Left to mourn her passing are her daughters: Mrs. Viola Allemang of Clearwater, Mrs. Ivadelle Sedivy of Brunswick, Mrs. Dorothy Rouse of Puyallup,WA, Mrs. Ruby Shong of Arvada, CO, Mrs. Lois Miller of Elgin NE, one son Harold of Arvada, CO and one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Darlene Dean of Blair, NE and on sister, Mrs. Lucy Lichty of Downey, CA
