Cuney, 74, of 414 Thunderbird Drive, a retired deputy county assessor, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Charles Patchen officiating. Mr. Cuney died Feb. 23, 1981, at Poudre Valley Hospital. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Mr. Cuney was born Nov. 19, 1906, in Wray and came to Fort Collins in 1957. He married Ethel L. Mr. Cuney died Feb. 23, 1981, at Poudre Valley Hospital. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Mr. Cuney was born Nov. 19, 1906, in Wray and came to Fort Collins in 1957. He married Ethel L. Hanshaw Jan. 13, 1929, in Holyoke. She survives. He ranched and farmed in Yuma County until 1948. He owned the Gateway Motel in Loveland from 1948 to 1952 when he bought the Wiggins Implement Company which he managed in addition to farming until 1957. He moved to Fort Collins then and served as deputy county assessor until his retirement in 1975. He also served as a deputy county assessor in Yuma County. Mr. Cuney was a trustee and member of First Christian Church. He was a member of Fort Collins Senior Citizens, Senior Harmonettes, Golden Age Club, Elks Lodge of Fort Collins, Oddfellows Lodge of Loveland for more than 25 years where he was a past noble grand master and, with his wife, bridge and pinochle clubs. He was a member and president of the Summer Bummers Good Sam Club. Other survivors are a son; two daughters; a sister; and six grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund in care of Goodrich Mortuary.
