Description	:	John F. “Jack” Cooper, age 77, of Michigan City, died Tuesday, July 29 at Porter-Valparaiso Hospital, Valparaiso Campus. Private family services will be held at a later date Mr. Cooper was born August 13, 1930 in Bedford, IN to Ira and Lora (Beaman) Cooper, both of whom proceeded him in death. On Feb. 5, 1955 in Divide County, ND he married Yvonne Myhra, she survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving are sons Craig (Doyla) Cooper of Frankfort, IN and Greg (Norma) Cooper of Kyle, TX; grandchildren Nicole Eavey of Frankfort, IN, Joshua Cooper of Lafayette, IN, and Dakota Cooper, of Keiser, OR, and great grandson Aidan Eavey. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ira “IB” Bernard Cooper. Mr. Cooper had been a realtor with Replogle Real Estate and also a clothing salesman with Blue Bell, Inc. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. Mr. Cooper graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Economics degree. He met and married his wife of 53 years at the Fortuna Air Force Base in North Dakota, later coming back to Indiana after his discharge and attended Purdue, then coming to Michigan City to raise their family. He was a generous and giving man and able to make a final gift of organ donation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Contributor: DRB (49474398)
