Description	:	John Fields, 66, of Beech Grove, died at 9:50 p.m. Saturday at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, where he was a patient for two days. Born April 8, 1889, in Nelson County, he was a son of the late Robert Nelson and Ruth Annette Dodd Fields. Mr. Fields was a farmer most of his life and was a member of the Beech Grove Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Blanche Quick Fields; one son, G. Mr. Fields was a farmer most of his life and was a member of the Beech Grove Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Blanche Quick Fields; one son, G. Glenn Fields, Greenfield; one daughter, Mrs. William Ferrier, Waynesboro; one stepson, Landieth Carroll Campbell, Waynesboro; one stepdaughter, Mrs. John W. Hughes Jr., Washington, D. C.; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mercer Dameron, Mrs. Herbert Lowe, and the Misses Ethel and Marjorie Fields, all of Roseland; four brothers, Herman Fields, Lester Fields, Ernest Fields, and Alton Fields, all of Roseland; and a number of nieces and nephews. The body was transferred from the Etter Funeral Home at 1 p.m. today at the Beech Grove Christian Church where funeral service was to be conducted at 2 p.m. today by the Rev. Elwood Campbell. Interment was to be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were to be Arthur Lowe, Garth Fields, Robert Fields, Luther McGann, Auldman Campbell and Carlton Grant. Honorary bearers were to be Garnett Ewing, B. C. Small Sr., Dr. James H. Gamble, Dr. E. C. Kidd, Douglas Grant, Bruce Dodd, Thomas Fitzgerald, Raymond Fitzgerald, Basil Campbell, Haywood Campbell, Irvin Campbell, Maphis Campbell, Mulford Campbell, Berkley Campbell, Maxie Campbell, Delmas Campbell, Harold Campbell, Landon Phillips.
