Description	:	John Fober, a resident of Iowa since 1864, died at his home in Masonville on Sunday, July 5th, at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 25 days. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Wesleyan Methodist church, and were conducted by Rev. Mr. Hoover of Dundee. Interment was made in the Masonville cemetery.Mr. Fober was born in Quebec, Canada, October 10, 1839, and spent his boyhood days in Canada. Interment was made in the Masonville cemetery.Mr. Fober was born in Quebec, Canada, October 10, 1839, and spent his boyhood days in Canada. On January 20th, 1864, he was united in marriage with Margaret Tate, their marriage taking place at Thompsonville, Connecticut. The same year he came to Iowa and located at Cascade, Iowa, where he resided for a number of years. In 1868 he and his family came to Delaware county and located at Rock Prairie, northeast of Manchester, where they resided for several years. In 1900 Mr. Fober took up his residence in Masonville, where he resided until his death. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Fober, three of whom have preceded their father in death. The children who survive their father are J. B. Fober, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Mrs. J. J. Williams of Evanston, Illinois; and M. J. Fober, of Richland township, Delaware county, Mr. Fober is also survived by the devoted wife. Mr. Fober was a man of high ideals and was held in esteem of his neighbors and friends. He was a devout Christian gentleman, and practiced his profession in his dealing with those with whom he mingled in the common walks of every day life. In the death of Mr. Fober Delaware county, and the community which he called home, lose a good man. The widow suffers the loss of a devoted husband, and the children, a kind father.
