Mr. Feldhahn was in perfect health, so far as the family knew, and had done a hard day's work. In the forenoon, he helped his wife do their washing, ate a hearty meal at noon, and in the afternoon went about his work at the park. He and Ollie Watt were clearing out some limbs which had been broken off by the storm, and as it was necessary to climb a tree to do some trimming. Mr. Feldhahn decided to do that himself and as the turned to walk (illegible) found him helpless. His son-in-law, W. C. Moon, happened to be near unloading feed at the depot, and medical aid was quickly summoned, and he was removed to his home. It Is believed that he recognized the members of the family, though he could not speak, but lapsed into unconsciousness soon after reaching home, and did not rally from this condition. John Frank Feldhahn was born near Berlin, Germany, February 24, 1861. He was the second child of a family of nine, son of John and Bertha Feldhahn. He came to America when he was 22 years old, thus escaping the third year of that country's rigid military training. Mr. Feldhahn was married to Miss Anka Wolleson in Daws county, Neb., in1895. To them were born two children, John, of Independence, Mo., and Mrs. Elise Moon, of Lamoni, who with the mother and four grandchildren survive. Deceased united with the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1906, he and his son being baptized at the same time by Elder Ward L. Christy. To this faith, he remained steadfast to the end. Mr. Feldhahn was a man of strict honor in all his dealings, energetic, friendly, kind, one well-liked by those with whom he associated. He had been park caretaker for a number of years and took especial pride in his work. He will be greatly missed in this civic capacity. Relatives who were here yesterday to attend the funeral are his son and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Feldhahn and three children, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Crick, of Independence, Mo., his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Feldhahn and their son, of Council Bluffs; Mrs. Feldhahn's brother and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Wolleson, and Miss Martha Wolleson, of Lincoln, Iowa, and Mrs. J. N. Turnell, of Waterloo; Hugo Lichte, Chadron, Nebr. Others were expected to arrive last evening.
