Description	:	John Franklin Seekins Winterport – John Franklin Seekins, 71, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 17. 2002, at a Las Vegas hospital. He was born in Hartland, June 12, 1931, the son of John and Stella Seekins. He owned and operated Seekins Fence Co., in Hampden for many years. In 1976, he established his own log brokerage company, which he ran until he retired in 1990. Upon retirement, he traveled with his wife, Shirley, throughout the world. Read More	John Franklin Seekins Winterport – John Franklin Seekins, 71, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 17. 2002, at a Las Vegas hospital. He was born in Hartland, June 12, 1931, the son of John and Stella Seekins. He owned and operated Seekins Fence Co., in Hampden for many years. In 1976, he established his own log brokerage company, which he ran until he retired in 1990. Upon retirement, he traveled with his wife, Shirley, throughout the world. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years; four children; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; his sister, Rita Youngs of Brewer, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the Winterport Baptist Church, Coles Corner Road, Winterport with Donald Campbell Sr., officiating. After the service, the family invites everyone to a time of fellowship and refreshments. In lieu of flowers, contributions to his memory may be made to the Northern New England Cyctic Fibrosis Chapter, 114 Perimeter Road, Unit G & H, Nashua, N.H. 03063.
