Read More	John Fred "Shorty" Gault, 85, widower of Rosa Sams Gault, formerly of Brittany Manor Apts., a resident of Oakmont Nursing Center, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at Wallace Thomson Hospital after a period of declining health. Mr. Gault was born in Kelton, Nov. 3, 1919, a son of the late Douglas Lester and Alma Gault Gault. He was a graduate of Kelly Pinckney High School and retired manager with Leventis Enterprises. Mr. Gault was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon, a member of the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class and a member of the Golden Agers Club of the church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II as a staff sargent. Surviving are a daughter, Delores G. Wade of Union; two sons and daughters-inlaw, Keith and Nadie Gault of Union and Freddie and Melodi Gault of Union; two sisters, Lennah G. Farr and Bernice G. Lawson, both of Union; three sisters-in-law, Dot Gault of Union, Betty Sams and Pearl Sams, both of Lockhart; five grandchildren, Danny Wade Jr., Trevor Gault, Chapel G. Gregory and husband Heath, Jon Nick Gault and Jacob Gault; a special friend Bea Harris of Clinton. Mr. Gault was predeceased by four brothers: his twin brother, Ned Gault, Ben Gault and infant twins, Bill and Broadus. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Morningside Baptist Church by the Rev. Eddie Saxon, the Rev. Larry Plyler and the Rev. Ron Culbertson. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens with military honors. Active pallbearers will be Mark Wade, Olin Sinclair, Jimmy Chastain, Blake Cody, Toney Gregory, Tank Hollingsworth, Colon Duckett and Mike Thompson. The following are asked to assemble at the church Friday at 2:45 p.m. to form the honorary escort: Employees and staff of Oakmont Nursing Home, members of the Golden Agers, members of the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class and Boyce Wade, Jim Cook and Donnie Adams. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 and will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Friday to await the hour of service. The family is at the home of his son, Keith and Nadie Gault, 101 Gilmore Road, Union. Memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund, 112 Bates Ave., Union, S.C. 29379. The S.R.
