Description	:	John Frederick, better known as Fred Garrett, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Garrett, was born at Grafton, Neb., July 7, 1894. He passed away at the Henderson Community Hospital Monday morning, February 26, 1962, at the age of 67 years, 7 months and 19 days. He was united in marriage to Mabel Foltz, November 17, 1916, at Geneva, Neb. To this union were born nine children, Ruth Muesborn, Ralph Garrett, Clara Mae Spreier, George Garrett, Donna Dee Eckrode, Donald Dean Garrett, Dale Garrett and Iona Whitley, Verneice Caton passed away at an early age. To this union were born nine children, Ruth Muesborn, Ralph Garrett, Clara Mae Spreier, George Garrett, Donna Dee Eckrode, Donald Dean Garrett, Dale Garrett and Iona Whitley, Verneice Caton passed away at an early age. Mr. Garrett followed farming as a lifelong vocation and lived in the following communities in this capacity: Benedict, Silver Creek and Fillmore County. For the past 14 years the family has lived in and near Grafton, where Mr. Garrett resided at the time of his passing. He had been in failing health for the past year, but the seriousness of his condition was not known until about the last month. Besides his wife and the above named sons and daughters, he is survived by four sisters; Mrs. William Vennum of McCool, Mrs. James Donnelley of Lincoln, Mrs. Frances Dutnell of Elyria, O., and Mrs. Fred Horlivy, of Ithaca, Neb.; and two brothers, William Garrett of Springfield, Ore., and Addison Wiley of Stormville, O.; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Grafton Congregational Church, and were in charge of Rev. Maude V. Mann. Kenneth Jackson sang the hymns, being accompanied by Mrs. Roy Warren.
