Description	:	John "Jack" F. Cleveland passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Jack was born Nov. 14, 1929 to John Baptist Cleveland and Gladys Freer. He was born, raised and lived almost his entire life in Monse, Wash. He graduated from Brewster High School and enlisted in the Army on Sept. 4, 1952. He was a Korean War veteran and received an honorable discharge on Sept.19, 1960. He was married to Darlene B. Cleveland passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Jack was born Nov. 14, 1929 to John Baptist Cleveland and Gladys Freer. He was born, raised and lived almost his entire life in Monse, Wash. He graduated from Brewster High School and enlisted in the Army on Sept. 4, 1952. He was a Korean War veteran and received an honorable discharge on Sept.19, 1960. He was married to Darlene B. "Williams" Cleveland on July 2, 1961 at Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, and they were married for over 30 years until her death in 1994. Jack farmed and eventually was an operator at Chief Joseph Dam, retiring in 1992. He loved playing and watching baseball. In recent years he would watch baseball games from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. each and every day and loved watching his son, John, play softball along with his cousins. He is survived by his son, John F. Cleveland II of Monse; brother Bob Cleveland of Marysville; nephews Edwin Marchand of Omak, Steve (Kristi) Marchand of Omak, Dave Marchand of Omak, Mike (Dottie) Marchand, Ken (Peggy) Carmack of Washougal, Ruth (Tom) Austin of Vancouver, Donna (Jerry) Smith of Wenatchee, Janet (Dean) Szabo of Bonney Lake and Wayne (Cindy) Farley of Eatonville; and many other nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; sisters Ruth Ann Cleveland, Anna Mae Cleveland and Thelma Marchand; brother-in-law Ed Marchand; and his beloved wife, Darlene B. Cleveland. A family rosary was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel on Elmway in Okanogan. A public rosary was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at St. Mary's Mission Longhouse, and dinner followed. Funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 at St. Mary's Mission Catholic Church, with a graveside service following at Fort Okanogan Cemetery in Monse. Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel is in care of the arrangements.
