Description	:	John Friend Laing, son of Jane and Isaac Liang, was born December 25, 1880, in Muirkirk, Ontario, Canada, and died November 21, 1946, at the S.B.A. Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, at the age of 65 years. He was a custodian of the S.B.A. hospital in Topeka. He came to the United States at an early age and spent his early childhood in Michigan, near Cass City. He came to Kansas in 1901 and resided here all but two years, which was spent in California. He was married to Mabel Oswalt at Cameron, Mo., on July 27, 1911. He is survived... He was a custodian of the S.B.A. hospital in Topeka. He came to the United States at an early age and spent his early childhood in Michigan, near Cass City. He came to Kansas in 1901 and resided here all but two years, which was spent in California. He was married to Mabel Oswalt at Cameron, Mo., on July 27, 1911. He is survived by his wife Mabel; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Carl of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Josephine Draut of Kansas City, Kansas; and Mrs Eva Buchholz of Salina, Kansas; one half sister, Lillie M. Fritz of Northville, Mich.; nine nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Two brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the McAsey Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Travis Siever. Music was furnished by Miss Tena Still, accompanied by Miss Emma Zibell. Pall bearers were: David Wykert, Cody Shupe, John Ferrell, Clarence McDaniel, Art Morford, Niles Thompson. Burial was in the Holton Cemetery.
