At the age of sixteen he came from Germany and first located at Grand Island, Nebr., where he resided for about a year. He went from Grand Island to Plattsmouth, Nebraska, where he resided for three years, and then removed to Knox county in 1892, on a farm six and a half miles west of Wausa, where he resided for eleven years, afterwards moving to his present farm, east of Creighton, where he resided until the time of his death. He was married to Ella Hartstock of Plainview, Nebraska, in the year 1898, and to this union two children were born. Katherine and Reinert, who together with the wife survive. He is also survived by three brothers, Leonard Doerr, and George Doerr, Creighton, and Phillip Doerr of San Pedro, Calif. Three sisters also survive. Mr. Doerr was one of the substantial farmers of this community and one who was held in high esteem by his acquaintances, and hosts of friends together with is family mourn his untimely passing. He had been in failing health form some time prior to his death. Funeral services for Mr. Doerr were held from the home at 1 o'clock Friday and from the Golgatha Lutheran church at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Bullmann. Interment was in the Golgotha cemetery.
